Captured by Christ, Grounded in Love, Consumed by God
Rev. Lee Butler, Pastor
Who: Lee Butler
Why: Because God is a loving and gracious god that can and will use anyone that will give their life to Him. Because I love Him with all of my heart, and I desire to serve Him all the days of my life . . . this ministry opportunity is His request of me, and it is my honor to serve Him.
When: I began serving as Pastor on August 12, 2012
Favorite Verse: Galatians 2:20
Favoirte Song: In Christ Alone
Favorite Food: Charleston Shrimp & Grits (Got a bowl one year at "Vista Lights" and I've been hooked ever since)
Favorite Place(s): Charleston, SC (best place to get my favorite food), Ecuador, St. Petersburg, Russia and the mountains of North Carolina/Tennessee
Favorite Musical Artist: Too many to list, but let's just say I love good music!
People Have to Know: That I love my Lord and my family and "as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord" (Joshua 24:16). That Jesus still saves and there is hope in Him. My heart's desire is to share this with everyone who will listen.
Dawn González, Church Adminstrator/Financial Secretary
Who: Dawn González
What: Church Administrator and Financial Secretary
Why: I surrendered my life to my lord Jesus Christ as a young girl. I'm still all in, all His.
When: I began on Valentine's Day 2011.
Favorite Verse: 1 Corinthians 10:13 has always been a favorite because it assures me of the potential to be victorious and righteous in every situation— always. Not that I have already obtained this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. But that's another verse, so I think I might be in trouble here.
Favorite Song: Just one? A few of my son's original acoustic guitar creations probably top the list.
Favorite Food: My mother-in-law's homecooked Cuban cuisine.
Favorite Place: The seat swing that hung from the gazebo in my grandparent's waterfront backyard on the Back Bay of Biloxi, MS. As a girl, I would swing until the metal links wore through and it collapsed to the ground in a heap with me on top.
Favorite Musical Artist: I listen to almost everything from Beethoven to Gateway Worship. There's no possible way to choose. Maybe we should just worship for eternity and sing all of them around His throne. My favorite hymn is I Love to Tell the Story.
People Have to Know: I'm a pastor's wife, a mother of three teens, and a writer with pieces published online and in local magazines. Mine is an abundant life, the kind Jesus promised his followers.
